Albert A. Roupp AIA President
He grew up in the construction business. His Dad owned a construction/residential development company and Al worked with his Dad during his formative years learning construction. Soon he decided to go on to school choosing, at first, the Staatschule der Kunst in Hamburg, Germany. But architecture was his passion, and he returned to Chicago to enroll in the Architecture Department at the Illinois Institute of Technology graduating summa cum laude.
He taught at IIT for a number of years while working as project architect on the Daley Center in Chicago and other notable projects. Eventually he went on to work at Coder Taylor Associates in Kenilworth, IL., at that time, the premier property condition assessment/construction lending firm in the U.S. Some years later he bought the firm. Time passed and he decided went to develop his own firm now called TRG Assessment Services Inc.
Al helped develop the ASTM standards used for PCAs, helped revise the architecture school freshman curriculum taught at IIT, and has a highly regarded reputation in the real estate industry for the thorough, problem solving quality of the reports his company produces.
